About

My name is April, and I’m the owner of chickensguide.com. I grew up on the farm in northern Georgia and chickens have been part of my family for many generations. For the past 50 years, I’ve gained a lot of experience raising all different types of chickens.

For anyone who’s just getting started with raising chickens, whether it’s on a farm or in the city, you’ll probably have a lot of questions. I sure did when I got my first chicken at the age of 5. I would ask my dad and grandfather all kinds of questions.

Now with 50 years of experience under my belt, I can pretty much answer any questions related to raising chickens.

I cover every topic about raising chickens successfully. You’ll be able to find information on what chickens can eat, how long they will live, what’s the best feed to feed them, and many more.

Be sure to check back often as I update this site frequently.
